Most of California is experiencing a serious drought, and several major wildfires are raging across the state. Just as we need water to fight fire, that same water can sometimes come on the form of dangerous flash foods. As if anything couldn’t get worse, a family (two parents, a daughter, and a dog) hiking in Sierra National Forest was mysteriously found dead. Most likely cause at the moment?

A toxic algae bloom, of which would make the water it inhabits deadly. However, the investigation has yet to actually conclude. Whatever the cause of death, it’s very unfortunate for this to have happened. Prayers to the family’s other relatives.
