One of the Central Valley’s gems is undoubtedly is its wineries, usually in Madera and Fresno County. Some of these are popular and renowned, and I enjoyed myself at some of them. But there’s another wine region that’s well kept secret: Lodi.

Lodi is in the San Joaquin Valley, and draws its unique characteristics from the San Joaquin Delta, which Sacramento also shares. This makes the region cooler than the typically hot Central Valley; in fact, it makes it similar in temperature to Napa Valley (and unlike Napa, Lodi would likely be cheaper. Lodi also happens to be where Napa Valley legend Robert Mondavi used to live.

This article seems to know what it’s talking about in regards to Lodi; it seems I must explore Lodi sometime soon!
