That title sure is a mouthful, since Murphy Goode distinguishes this Sauvignon Blanc as being North Coast. Indeed it is, as Murphy Goode is based in Geyserville, CA, which is just a smidge north of the Bay Area. Murphy Goode’s description for this wine is “This Sauvignon Blanc is all about the fruit spectrum from citrus flavors through the tropical. Look for notes of tangerine, peach, pear, melon, and pineapple all brought together in a focused manner. This is the perfect wine to enjoy poolside.” In my personal opinion, it is definitely mellow for what it is, considering that Sauvingnon Blanc’s are traditionally enjoyed with seafood due to having a unique dryness that I can only describe as essence of the sea. Its quality doesn’t come cheap, as a 750 bottle retails for $18, but it’s easy to find it on shelves for $10 if not less, if you’re lucky. Funny enough, I’ve never actually bought a bottle; a wine enthusiast friend I have just always happens to have it on hand.
